Maserati 3500 GT Spyder Vignale

Maserati was founded in Bologna in 1914 by Alfieri Maserati. The brand's logo features a stylised trident reminiscent of the Neptune fountain in Bologna. Several brothers in the family held various positions in the company, which initially built racing cars on behalf of Isotta Fraschini. The company's long history in motor racing culminated when Juan Manuel Fangio won the 1957 world championship title with a Maserati 250F.

The company shifted its focus to the production of exclusive road cars during the 1950s. In 1957, production began on the 3500 GT, whose engine was based on the Tipo 350S racing engine. Renowned coachbuilder Vignale ended up producing the iconic Spyder, which was designed by Giovanni Michelotti and produced until 1964. Only 232 units were ever built.

The Spyder on offer began its life in Italy and went to Germany in 1983. In 1994, the car arrived in Switzerland and underwent several stages of extensive restoration by local specialists. All receipts since 1994 are included. The official Maserati certificate details the original specifications that the vehicle currently features.
