Description

When Jaguar unveiled the XK120 to the public at the Earl's Court Motor Show in 1948, it caused a sensation. The highly elegant, fresh and modern-looking car was to have a decisive impact on the sports car market. One journalist in attendance was apparently moved to declare that ‘all preconceived notions of what a production sports car should look like [...] have become obsolete overnight’.
The body of the XK120 is characterised by clean, elegantly curved lines. This wonderful design is paired with a modern chassis, which gives the vehicle excellent driving characteristics. Incidentally, the number 120 refers to the car's top speed, which in retrospect turned out to be an understatement. Factory driver Ron Sutton was clocked at over 130 miles (over 200 km/h) per hour during a test drive. The aura of an XK 120 is particularly evident in the open-top DHC version. The XK 120 DHC on offer impresses with its colour combination of black exterior and burgundy red leather interior. The Production Record Trace Certificate is available. The car has been in Switzerland since 2011 and has undergone extensive partial refurbishment over the last few years, with all receipts available. In addition, our specialised classic car workshop has spent months working to bring the technical condition up to optimum standard.
