Jaguar S.S. 1.5 Litre

In 1922, William Lyons and William Walmsley founded the Swallow Sidecar Company. Swallow and Standard, abbreviated as S.S., first produced models based on other manufacturers' designs and later, their own. After the Second World War, the abbreviation could no longer be used for understandable reasons. All models from 1945 onwards were marketed under a new brand name, Jaguar.

Back in 1935, the company unveiled its second independently built model, the S.S. 1.5-Litre – a compact saloon powered by a 1479cc 4-cylinder engine from Standard. The shape, though more compact, was clearly inspired by larger saloons of the time. The advantage was a car with good handling that captured the essence of an era.

The model on offer has been extensively restored and is in good condition. The paintwork and chrome are of a high standard, and the well-preserved interior features beautifully aged leather upholstery. As part of the refurbishment, our classic car workshop specialists overhauled the engine. The next owner can look forward to a wonderful pre-war classic car that is easy and enjoyable to drive. With four doors and four comfortable seats, the car can also be appreciated in the company of family and friends.
