In 1953, Aston Martin began extensive updates to the DB 2/4, which included two emergency seats in the rear, among other features. Another vast improvement was the amount of available room for the driver and front passenger. The name of the final version, the DB 2/4 MK III, was often shortened to the DB MK III. There were also refinements to the body design, and automatic transmission became an option. The DB MK III body was produced at Tickford Coachbuilding in Newport Pagnell. When David Brown took over the company in 1954, it became the sole production facility for all Aston Martins, from the DB4 onwards.
The DBA engine delivers an impressive 163 hp with a displacement just under 3 litres. The model on offer is sure to captivate with its Storm Grey exterior and dark red leather interior. It began its life in sunny Beverly Hills and came to Switzerland with its second owner. The last owner, who inherited the Aston Martin from his father, had the car completely restored by Aston Martin Heritage/Emil Frey Classics in 2019. Regular servicing and repair work has since been carried out at Emil Frey Classics. In a nod to its family history, the well-preserved original leather interior has not been replaced. The future owner can look forward to clocking up the kilometres in this iconic classic car.
